The Private List is excited to embark on a collaboration with Bloomingdale’s to provide customized gifts for clients of our members.
Bloomingdale’s personal shopper extraordinaire Claire Diller, from the Chestnut Hill store, has curated a selection of unique and popular gifts that will delight any new homeowner. In addition to individual items, she can curate baskets with ultra-luxurious items for the home. From luscious Matouk towels, Frette candles, Baccarat glassware, and a variety of Nambé bowls, these special gifts are guaranteed to pamper and beautify.
Claire has been at Bloomingdale’s for 17 years, and previously ran her own store on Newbury Street for 20 years.
TPL: What do you enjoy most about your work?
Claire: “What I love most about my work is fashion. I have always loved fashion and it has always been in my DNA, as I followed in the footsteps of my mother. I ran a modeling agency for 15 years before coming to Bloomingdale’s and I did a lot of styling there. I love fashion, clothes, and style; it all is part of an aesthetic and love for what I do. I am never bored. To me, fashion is keeping up with what comes in on a daily basis in all departments, from furniture, to men’s, to home decor.
Part of my job and what makes my day exciting for myself is walking through the store and finding things that are new, and seeing things differently, for almost every department. I try to keep up with every department to show my buyers everything.
I love what I do, not only because I love fashion and home decor, but most importantly I love my clients and the relationships that I have formed over the years. My clients have become friends, I have been blessed. My clients are just fabulous.”
TPL: Do you help your clients with home decor in addition to fashion?
Claire: “Absolutely! Many of my clients have second homes and I have furnished multiple homes for them.”
TPL: Can you give us an example of one of your custom baskets?
Claire: “Of course. The baskets can be fully customized to tailor a client’s style, or the colors of their home. We can add bath towels, throw blankets, candles, knife sets, and more. Knowing the color scheme of the client’s home is always helpful in designing these baskets. Some of my favorite items to include in a basket are a white Abyss bath towel, Jo Malone hand wash, Argento silver picture frames, and a set of Baccarat shot glasses.”
